QASP has a number of SF6 tracer devices that can be used to measure sulphur hexafluoride and methane emissions in untethered, freely-grazing animals. The techniqe involves the insertion of a permeation tube loaded with SF6 into the rumen, and the measurement of emissions via a breath sampling and collection system mounted on a harness attached to the animal.

Researchers can make a provisional booking enquiry for this equipment via the UQ Bookit website. The request will be reviewed by QASP managment before being approved. We encourage you to make this booking enquiry in advance of your funding application to allow us time to provide an accurate price estimate that can be included with your application.
